Batteries, motors, and inverters make up the essential trio of any electric powertrain, and each of these has a significant impact on the cost, range, efficiency, and performance of an electrified vehicle. Too often, though, these components are designed and optimized separately, instead of being optimized together, as a system.

Joe Wimmer serves as Gamma Technologies’ Senior Applications Engineering Manager of Electrical Systems, leading a team of engineers focused on supporting clients and delivering CAE software solutions for the design and analysis of batteries, motors, and power electronics. Joe holds a degree from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and started his career at GT in 2013 on the vehicle modeling team, focusing originally on performance and fuel economy prediction of conventional vehicles. For the last six years, he has focused on modeling electric components.
