3D-Printing Material for High-Temperature Applications

igus®, East Providence, RI, announces iglide® i230 3D printing material for selective laser sintering (SLS). This new powder material can withstand temperatures up to 110 °C, expanding the use cases for SLS-printed polymer components. During SLS, a printer melts plastic powder layer by layer to form bearings and other components. However, parts made from standard SLS printing materials — such as PA (nylon) 12 — are generally limited to applications less than 80 °C.

Weld Inspection Scanners

Evident Corporation, Waltham, MA, announces significant advancements in operability and versatility with its field-proven phased array inspection solutions, the MapROVERTM and Steer-ROVERTM scanners. To help resolve on-site challenges, these scanners offer new capabilities that ease weld and corrosion inspections of hard-to-reach areas and high-temperature surfaces of pipes, large tanks, and pressure vessels. For example, the new RECON camera kit improves the remote operation and validation capabilities of the steerable SteerROVER scanner.

Precise Linear Position Sensor

The positape® WB21 from ASM, Elmhurst, IL, is a 10-mm wide and 0.08-mm thick high-tech stainless steel measuring tape that can be installed where space is limited. Linear movements are converted into angular movements to determine the position. The magnetic multiturn absolute encoder detects rotary movement and converts it into a signal that can be analyzed by a data processing system.

Air Bearing Delay Line Stages

PI Americas, Auburn, MA, introduces a series of air bearing-based optical delay line stages. The ADL25 through ADL300 delay lines provide delays from 0.16 to 2 nanoseconds with time resolution down to 0.035 femtoseconds. Air bearings exhibit significantly lower pitch/yaw angular errors and near-perfect straightness and flatness, compared to their mechanical counterparts. So, at different delays, the beam remains at, or very close to, the region or point of interest.

Radar Level Sensors

Endress+Hauser, Greenwood, IN, has launched its new generation of Micropilot 80 GHz radar sensors: FMR60B, FMR62B, FMR63B, FMR66B, and FMR67B. The sensors are suited for challenges when measuring points aren’t easily accessible, because they are located in dusty areas and harsh environments with extreme process temperatures and process conditions. The sensors come equipped with wizards that operate via multiple HMI formats, including the SmartBlue app. Smart heartbeat monitoring is also included.
