New Frontiers: In-Space Manufacturing Innovations

Currently at an early stage, in-space servicing, assembly, and manufacturing (ISAM), is expected to become a core part of future in-space economy. From replacement parts to entire satellites, ISAM could potentially lower costs of operating in space. NASA has an ISAM strategy and implementation plan. Many commercial space companies are also building innovative technologies for providing transport, communication, energy, life extension, and situational awareness.
