Efficient AC Hollow Shaft Hypoid Gearmotors

Bodine type 42R hypoid gearmotors combine an all-new totally enclosed IP66-rated AC inverter-duty, 230/460 VAC motor with a high efficiency hypoid gear-head. They deliver torque output up to 2328lb-in (263 Nm). Ideal for industrial automation equipment that demands both high output torque and low input power. They are especially useful in applications that require the right angle gearmotor to be back-driven or that are located in wet or dirty environments.

The Pyramid Connectable (“PC”) Twisted Belt will quickly and easily replace endless belts on lineshaft conveyors. Brushless Hypoid Gear Motors

Bodine Electric Company (Peosta, IA) has introduced 12 new brushless DC hollow shaft gearmotors with hypoid gearing. These type 42B-25H2 and 42B-30H3 geared motors combine a new brushless DC, 130 VDC motor with two hypoid gear-heads. When used with a brushless DC speed control, these gear motors deliver hi performance with high starting torque. They are ideal for industrial automation equipment that demands quiet operation, and high-torque density. These are available with gear ratios from 5:1 to 240:1, provide up to 2,370 lb-in (268 Nm) of continuous torque, and speeds of up to 400 rpm.

Linear Motor Modules

Fast, compact and precise — these properties characterize the new linear motor modules from Bosch Rexroth (Charlotte, NC). The axes are available in sizes 140, 180 and 220 mm and feature a zero-backlash direct drive. The linear motor modules are available in all sizes with iron-core linear motors. The sizes 180 and 220 are also available with an ironless motor. This opens up a wide range of applications with standard strokes of up to 1,540 mm and forces of up to 2,400 N. At speeds of up to 5 m/s and with accelerations of up to 250 m/s², the LMMs achieve repeatability of ± 1.0 μm.

Expanding Smart Pendant capability for handling tasks, the Smart Pattern extension from Yaskawa (Dayton, OH) enables quick development of jobs for repetitive handling tasks. Ideal for common tasks like stacking, unstacking, case packing, machine loading, and unloading, this intuitive interface provides guided prompts for single part, grid (2D array), 3D grid (3D array), and stack patterns. Pattern jobs define a specific pattern and robot movement for handling each part in the pattern. Supervisor jobs define the patterns to be used to pick and place parts, as well as the overall flow of the system, including basic I/O signals. It provides the ability to combine multiple pick and place patterns in a single job, pattern layouts, and customization.

The newest RV-35/50/80FR series of robots are designed to allow for an expanded work envelope and increased opportunity through increased payload and reach compared to prior series. The series has a maximum reach of 2100 mm and a maximum pay-load of 80 kg, making them great solutions for palletizing as well as machine-tending applications.
