On-Demand Webinars: Materials

The Inside Story on Space Grade Silicones

SPONSORED BY:

Outer space missions and exploration present extraordinary challenges in space craft design, but finding the right materials shouldn’t be one. Challenges for space craft design can include broad temperature cycling, outgassing, atomic oxygen resistance, UV radiation, weight restrictions, vibration, and beyond.

For decades, silicones have been a key material choice for aerospace success. This 30-minute webinar will explore silicone capabilities and how they can enable innovation as well as demonstrate how to select the right materials to enable the next generation of space missions.

Topics include:

  • Why silicones are the solution for new space craft design
  • How to choose the right silicone for a unique application and key material characteristics and tests to consider
  • The history and future of silicones in space applications

An audience Q&A session will follow the technical presentation.

Speaker:
