The SBC4670 ARM computer from Micro/sys (Montrose, CA) features onboard communication formats of Power Over Ethernet, Socket Model capable of GSM/GPRS, CDMA or Bluetooth, on-board GPS, and/or CAN bus interface. Fitting on the 4.5 × 6.5" EPIC footprint, the board's multimedia capabilities include support for an 800 × 600 color flat-panel display, audio output, and debounced keypad input. Eight channels of 14-bit A/D with simultaneous reads, eight channels of 14-bit D/A, and 24 channels of digital I/O serve the industrial control and monitoring applications. The unit is rated for -40° to 85°C operation. An on-chip cache, watchdog timer, SDRAM controller, CompactFlash interface, and a USB host controller are also featured.
The unit has five serial ports. Four of the serial powers have RS232 transceivers, while the remaining serial port is configured for RS485 communication. Linux, Windows CE, and VxWorks® can all be booted. I/O expansion through the CompactFlash socket allows users to implement additional storage and I/O devices such as Wi-Fi cards. Other features include a 16-bit PC/104 bus interface. A stack-through version is available for custom OEM I/O cards.
