The StepNet AC drive from Copley Controls (Canton, MA) runs directly on 115/240 Vac at 7 A, eliminating the need for a separate DC supply. It offers servo mode operation and has built-in modes for indexing, trajectory tracking, camming, and electronic gearing. The drive can operate alone or as part of a distributed control network.

The drive has command, encoder, and communications interfaces that allow users to apply the single model to a wide range of standalone and networked architectures and applications. Interfaces include CAN/open, DeviceNet, ASC11/Discrete I/O, stepper commands, +/-10 V position/velocity torque command, and PWM velocity/torque command.

Libraries of motion control software and software COM objects are available to ease system development. Measuring 146 × 119 × 55 mm, the drive can be mounted flat or sideways.
