A maintenance-free PTFE bearing liner from Aurora Bearing (Montgomery, IL) provides an alternative to fractured race and light series spherical bearings in hydraulic cylinders in both Metric and inch versions. They are best used in static situations where potential misalignment cannot be accommodated by plane bushings or clevises and pins. Maintenance-free PTFE lined bearings have a close tolerance fit between ball and race, improving precision and life over metal-on-metal fractured race bearings.

Aurora bearings with the self-lubricating PTFE liner carry an ET-2RS suffix. The company can also manufacture full swage design equivalents for demanding dynamic applications.
