Position Sensors

Novotechnik, U.S., Southborough, MA, introduced Vert-X 2900 Series sensors that measure angular position and are available in single or redundant versions. Users can specify configurations including start and end angles for less than 360° maximum range, index point, cw or ccw indication, and nonlinear curves. Features include measurement range to 0 to 360° with repeatability of 0.1°, sample rate to 5 kHz, and operating temperature from -40 to 125 °C.

Pressure Sensor

The Model BPS110/BPS120 pressure sensors from Bourns, Riverside, CA, are 0.15 to 1.0 PSI environmental pressure sensors. They are based on MEMS technology and offer fully calibrated and compensated output for industrial, consumer, and medium/low-risk medical designs. The sensors have a Total Error Band (TEB) of 1.5% FS over a temperature range of 0 to 60 °C. They can be used in either analog (BPS110) or digital systems (BPS120).

Cable Connector

The CABLINE-UM Micro-Coaxial cable connector from I-PEX Connectors, Austin, TX, features 360-degree EMI shielding to protect components against noise in high-speed transmission environments. The right-angle vertical mating type enables it to be placed anywhere on the PCB. The connector is 0.4-mm pitch with a mating height of 2.2 ±0.15 mm (with locking cover) and 2.0 ±0.15 mm (without locking cover).

Arbitrary Waveform Generator

Zurich Instruments, Zurich, Switzerland, introduced real-time precompensation technology for its HD arbitrary waveform generator (AWG). By inverse filtering, precompensation minimizes effects of imperfections in the wiring and ensures that the signal applied to the device under test equals the signal designed on the AWG. Multiple filter types are available to correct for AC coupling, spurious inductances and capacitances, impedance mismatches, and amplifier ringing.
