Thermal Camera

FLIR Systems, Wilsonville, OR, announced the FLIR T860 thermal camera with onboard Inspection Route software for streamlining inspections of critical assets. The camera features a LCD touchscreen visible from low angles and an integrated color viewfinder for Sun glare conditions. The 640 × 480-resolution camera can be paired with an optional 6-degree telephoto thermal lens that allows users to inspect energized targets from a safe distance or measure small targets with greater precision.

Testing Software

Siemens Digital Industries Software, Plano, TX, released Simcenter™ Testlab™ software that features model-based system testing that enables system validation based on a combined physical and virtual test. Component-based transfer path analysis predicts full-system noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) earlier in the development cycle by combining component models and measurements. For NVH in vehicle electrification, the software addresses new noise standards for an Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System.

I/O Modules

Opto 22, Temecula, CA, introduced the GRV-CCANI-2 and GRV-ITM-12 input/output modules for the groov EPIC® platform. The GRV-CCANI-2 provides hardware support for an industrial field bus and enables existing CAN networks to be brought into IIoT applications using groov EPIC’s IT/OT connectivity tools. Up to 8 CAN buses per processor at network speeds up to 1 Mbps are supported. The GRV-ITM-12 provides a high-density, low-cost temperature sensing option with two isolated zones and 6 channels per zone.

Terminal Blocks

High-density terminal blocks from c3controls, Beaver, PA, feature multiple terminal points in a single housing, enabling high wiring density with fewer individual blocks. They are shock- and vibration-resistant for high-impact applications and are available with large marking strips for accurate identification of all terminals. Available in terminal points of four, six, and 12 in a single molded housing, the blocks carry an electrical rating of 30 A @ 600 V AC (UL/CSA) continuous service. They accommodate #18 to #10 AWG stranded or solid copper wire and accept fork and ring type connectors.

Socket

The GTP-QFN-1001 socket from Ironwood Electronics, Eagan, MN, is designed for 5.9 × 5.9-mm package size and operates at bandwidths up to 60+ GHz with less than 1 dB of insertion loss. The contact resistance is typically 20 milliohms per pin. The socket is mounted on the target PCB with no soldering and uses a very small space, allowing capacitors/resistors to be placed nearby. The socket is constructed with a low-inductance elastomer contactor with a protective layer that shields the elastomer from contamination and solder migration.
