The MDrive 14Plus Motion Control system from Intelligent Motion Systems (Marlborough, CT) combines the motor, driver, controller, and encoder in one system using a NEMA size 14 brushless 1.8-degree motor. It measures 1.9 x 1.4 x 2.0" and includes a programmable controller and programming instruction set. Communication is via RS-422/485 or optional CANopen. The system includes up to eight 5V to 24V general- purpose I/O lines, one 10-bit analog input, 0 to 5 MHz step clock rate, and 20 microstep resolutions up to 51,200 steps per revolution. Optional closed loop control is available.
The PITTMAN® Series 6000™ from AMETEK Technical & Industrial Products (Kent, OH) is a 22-mm-diameter, brush-commutated DC servo motor that has a skewed 5-slot armature design and bonded neodymium iron boron magnets. Depending on the model, the motors can generate maximum peak torques up to 10.2 oz-in and nominal no-load speeds up to 8720 rpm. Features include sintered bronze bearings, 2-pole stators, heavy-gauge steel housing, silicon steel laminations, and copper graphite brushes.
MFD Pneumatics, a division of Mead Fluid Dynamics (Chicago, IL), introduced a line of solenoid valve products designed for OEM applications. The directional control valves come in variations of 3-way two-position and 4-way two- or three-position operations. They are designed for automation projects and high-production machines, and come with optional voltages.
Maxon Motor USA (Fall River, MA) released the GP 22 S and GP 32 S gearheads adjusted for spindles and designed to withstand high loads. Three different standard spindle types are available: metric, trapeze, and spherical rotating spindles. They are available in steel or ceramic variations up to 200 mm in length and supplied with matching spindle nuts. Modified planetary gearheads come in two different sizes, with diameters of 22 mm and 32 mm.
