Tracking Camera

The Intel® RealSense™ T265 Tracking Camera from FRAMOS (Ontario, Canada) uses inputs from dual fisheye cameras and a Bosch IMU along with its own processor on board. The Movidius MA215x ASIC provides edge processing capabilities to provide to the host system with 6 DoF poses. These real-time six degrees of freedom measurements enhance translation and rotation data which is crucial for pose estimation for autonomous devices. The Intel® RealSense™ T265 Tracking Camera has one main board containing all components. Middleware processing is provided directly on the Movidius™ Myriad™ 2MA215x ASIC chip. The Bosch BMI055 IMU provides an accelerometer and gyroscope with high sample rates in a single package while the OV9282 fisheye camera contains a monochrome Global Shutter image sensor with more than 160-degree view, complemented by an IR cut filter.

Scanning Laser Tracker

Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division (North Kingstown, RI) launched a brand-new laser tracker line, the Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600. This new product makes targetless 3D scanning possible for the first time directly from the laser tracker. The ATS600 can scan a surface with metrological accuracy from a distance of up to 40 meters with no need for targets, sprays, reflectors or probes. The system works by identifying a scan area within its field of view and then creating a sequentially measured grid of data points that define that surface, with accuracy to within as little as 300 microns. Measurement point density is fully customizable, so that users can choose the ideal balance between detail and process speed for their specific application.

Camera Link Frame Grabbers

To capitalize on Camera Link’s (CL) continued market strength, BitFlow (Woburn, MA) offers frame grabber models that can be used to control up to four CL Base or two CL 80-bit cameras from one PCIe slot on the motherboard. The Neon CLD is a PoCL (Power over Camera Link) frame grabber that supports two CL cameras on a low-cost x4 PCIe platform. The Neon-CLQ supports four base cameras plus I/O in a single PCIe slot. The Axion-CL family (Axion 1xE and 2xE) captures images at rates up to 85MHz with support for two base, medium and full 80-bit (10-tap) CL cameras at a combined sustained bandwidth up to 1.7 GB/S. In dual camera mode, the Axion 2xE board appears in application software to be two completely independent frame grabbers, greatly simplifying camera setup.

UV LED Light Engines

Innovations in Optics, Inc. (Woburn, MA) offers LumiBright™ UV-LED Light Engines featuring UV die arrays bonded on MCPCB substrates that enhance thermal performance for high current density operation. The specialized primary optic is a non-imaging concentrator made from fused silica, ideal for high power UV flux. With active cooling, the model 2400B-405 model can emit greater than 20 Watts from a 7.5 mm diameter clear aperture with a 0.66 numerical aperture (NA). Model 2400B-505 light engine can produce over 10 Watts of radiant flux from a 5 mm diameter clear aperture with 0.60 NA. LumiBright UV-LED Light Engines are available with wavelengths centered near 365 nm, 385 nm, 395 nm, and 405 nm. For photolithography, 435 nm LEDs are also available.

Multi-Cavity Ultra-Narrow Bandpass Filters

Alluxa, Inc., (Santa Rosa, CA) announced the production of a new class of multi-cavity ultra-narrow bandpass filters with 0.1 nm bandwidths and OD6 blocking. Alluxa now offers a 532 nm multi-cavity filter that has a FWHM of just 0.1 nm while maintaining over 80% transmission. The ultra-narrow filters have wide-ranging uses including improving signal-to-noise ratios in many fields such as Lidar for autonomous vehicles, astronomy, laser-line clean up, free-space communication, and fusion research.

Industrial Cameras

LUCID Vision Labs, Inc. (Richmond, BC, Canada) has announced the addition of four new Triton GigE Vision camera models featuring Sony Pregius global shutter CMOS image sensors. The new Triton cameras range from 0.4 to 12.3 Megapixel resolution. The lower resolution Triton models include the monochrome and color versions of the 0.4 MP Sony Pregius IMX287 CMOS sensor running at 291 fps and the 1.6 MP Sony IMX273 running at 77 fps. The higher resolution models feature the monochrome and color versions of the 8.9 MP Sony Pregius IMX267 running at 13.7 fps and the 12.3 MP Sony IMX304 CMOS sensors running at 10 fps. The Triton camera has a wide operating temperature ranging from -20°C to 55°C ambient.

Two Axis Beamsplitter Mounts

A new series of two axis (θx, θy) adjustable beamsplitter mounts have been introduced by Siskiyou Corporation (Grants Pass, OR). Each IXF series beamsplitter mount is fabricated entirely from a single metal block, including its springs. IXF series mounts are designed to hold round beamsplitters having standard diameters of 0.5", 0.75", 1.0", and 2.0". Adjustment angular range is 5°, and the included fine pitch (100 TPI) adjustment screws provide 1.5 arcsec resolution. Cutouts angled at 45° on the rear of the mounts are large enough to accommodate beam sizes of up to 0.15", 0.25", 0.41" and 0.67" respectively, and allow angle variations of ±2.5° at full aperture. Plus, each size mount is available in either front or top adjust configurations.
