Spectrophotometer for a Microscope

CRAIC Technologies (San Dimas, CA) has introduced the 508 PV™ UV-visible-NIR spectrophotometer for your microscope. The 508 Perfect Vision™ is designed to be added to an open photoport of a microscope or probe station so that you can non-destructively analyze the spectra of many types of microscopic samples. Featuring CRAIC Technologies' Lightblades™ spectrophotometers and proprietary optical interface technologies, the 508 PV™ can acquire spectra of microscopic sample areas by absorbance, reflectance, polarization, luminescence and fluorescence, in addition to high-resolution color images, when attached to properly configured microscopes.

Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) System

Limata (Munich, Germany), a provider of Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) systems for PCB manufacturing, has launched the latest generation of its X3000 LDI system. This platform can handle large panel formats, up to 110" x 48", or simultaneously image multiple smaller PCBs in a single run, for example twelve standard 24" x 18" boards. The X3000 model utilizes an integrated auto-calibration system to deliver high accuracy, and also supports roll-to-roll for the handling of endless flexible boards, with the largest PCB manufactured so far measuring 25 meters in length.

Sapphire Waveplates

Custom manufactured ultra-precise low order sapphire waveplates that extend polarization control into the infrared for high power IR and visible lasers are available from Meller Optics, Inc. (Providence, RI). Meller Sapphire Waveplates change the polarization state of a laser beam from linear to circular and vice versa to extend polarization control into the infrared. Manufactured as thin as 0.5 mm and < 25 mm dia. with transmitted wavefront of up to λ/10 @6.32.8 nm, they are A/R coated on both sides and provide λ/4 and λ/2 retardation with tolerances of > λ/300 @632 µm, > λ/400 @1.06 µm, and > λ/1000 @2.94 µm.
