COMO Filtration Systems has partnered with Crawford Research to implement OilTrac™, a fluid-maintenance program aimed at increasing profit by controlling the effects of oil contamination on plant equipment. Crawford Research conducted tests using the COMO technology to gauge the efficiency of lubrication systems currently in use by NASA.

The oil recycling system was installed at NASA’s John Glenn Research Center (GRC) in Cleveland, OH. Since implementing OilTrac and equipping facility rough pumps and blowers with a customized oil filtration system, GRC has been able to reduce unscheduled maintenance costs and increase oil life, reducing costs associated with fluid disposal. In addition, the improved filtration system has reduced failure rates of research and tests, and provided the environmental benefit of using and disposing of reduced amounts of oil.
