Lantronix (Irvine, CA) recently introduced its xPico(TM) device server, which it claims is the world’s smallest embedded device server. xPico can be used in designs typically intended for chip solutions. However, with the xPico module there is no need for software development, which results in a much lower development cost and faster time-to-market. Key features include: chip-sized footprint of 24mm x 16.5mm; complete ‘Device Server Application’ with full IP stack and web server; serial data rate of up to 921 Kbps; 256- bit AES encryption; and an extended temperature operating environment of -40° to +85° C.
