At the Hannover Messe trade fair in Germany, Eplan Software & Service, with its affiliate company Cideon, introduced Syngineer, an innovative communication and information platform that integrates mechanical engineering, software engineering, and controls engineering through one mechatronic structure. Eplan, a sister company of Rittal Corporation in the Friedhelm Loh Group, offers Syngineer as a solution for simplifying synchronization across all three disciplines, accelerating design engineering and development.

Syngineer models the mechanic structure of a machine consisting of the machine’s own specifications, functions, and components. All the requirements are given mechatronic definitions with Syngineer to transparently represent them for all of the engineering disciplines. Various authoring systems, such as Eplan, MCAD, and PLC software, are linked through a browser add-in and connected to the communication platform.

Cloud technology enables the effective networking of the three disciplines, and offers the option to communicate with each other in real time and across locations. Once the authoring systems are linked via the communication platform, design engineers can additionally communicate online.
