Carnegie Mellon University researchers have demonstrated "4D knitting. The computationally-controlled machines are being used to make a variety of soft textile objects.
The tiny robot has special electro-adhesive foot pads, origami-based ankle joints, and a variety of quadrupedal gaits that enable the scaling of vertical and curved surfaces.
