"Honestly, the car has become an office for some people just so they can get away from the noise of their house," said Carla Bailo at CES 2021 last week. "The sound [in the car] is great, and you can connect from anywhere."

Bailo, President and CEO of the Ann Arbor, MI-based Center for Automotive Research, was part of a four-person discussion last week. The panel where she and others spoke about the car's emerging role as a comfortable, well-equipped "second space" – one that has surpassed the workplace in importance for many consumers.
