Our lead story today looked at a cutting-edge way to prepare food: Laser cooking.

While Columbia researcher Jonathan Blutinger tells Tech Briefs that laser-based cookware currently lacks an “ecosystem” to support the process, the project leader also envisions the method being used in the future. 

“I think it's an inevitability,” said Blutinger. “As robots are starting to pervade our kitchens and make things more automated, people will see it's kind of the only way.”
