On-Demand Webinars: Power

Why Model Batteries?

Detailed understanding of battery technology and the underlying physics processes is necessary to design high-performance, durable, and safe batteries.

In this 60-minute Webinar, attendees will see how multiphysics simulation can help designers and engineers develop the next generation of batteries and facilitate the integration of such batteries into final electrical devices. This includes a detailed look at the Battery Design Module, an add-on to COMSOL Multiphysics® that includes predefined physics-based models with different complexity levels —from the detailed structures in a battery's porous electrode to the battery pack scale, including thermal management systems.

Attendees will see:

  • How modeling can help in the design and development of the next generation of batteries
  • How functionality and physics interfaces of the Battery Design Module can be used for battery design and analysis
  • The fundamental modeling workflow and the process of building and running a battery model in COMSOL®

A Q&A session will follow the technical presentation.

COMSOL is a global provider of simulation software for product design, engineering, and research in technical enterprises, labs, and universities. COMSOL Multiphysics® is an integrated environment for creating physics-based models and simulation applications. Simulation experts use COMSOL Server™ and COMSOL Compiler™ to deploy applications to design teams and customers worldwide.
