Empress Software (Beltsville, MD) has announced that the Empress Ultra Embedded Database V10.20 works on Windows 7 Beta. Windows 7 Beta is Microsoft's next-generation operating system for PC users. The embedded database features an Intel Atom board with 2GB of memory. Empress V10.20 for Windows functions after adding Java, Visual Studio 2005, Cygwin, and Firefox.

ImageEmpress V10.20 runs on the Intel D945GCLFAtom board. Windows 7 ran in about 1GB of memory and on the embedded Atom chip. For embedded developers interested in deployment on PCs, Empress on Windows 7 offers a new option for deployment across multiple platforms like Linux and Windows.
