Allegro Software Development Corp. (Boxborough, MA) has launched its RomPager 4.6 embedded Internet connectivity software suite giving OEMs the ability to integrate connectivity features into their devices.

Currently design engineers must often build their own Internet communications functionality over the operating system and TCP/IP stack they have chosen. Using the RomPager 4.6 product suite, design engineers can incorporate various functionalities into their embedded devices including web servers, web clients and XML enabling embedded devices to exchange data using XML with other web servers. Users can also incorporate POP/SMTP for sending and receiving emails with attachments; CLI for Cisco IOS-style device management; UPnP/DLNA leverage software built upon standardsbased protocols for consumer electronics devices; simple network time protocol to ensure synchronization; and Radius, which enables software engineers to build authentication capabilities into their devices.
