The Piranha HS camera from DALSA Corp. Waterloo, ON, Canada, features 12k resolution, 5.2-μm pixel size, and speeds of 90-kHz line rate or 1.2 gigapixels/sec. The HSLink interface delivers scalable bandwidth in 300-MB/sec steps, from 300 to 6,000 MB/sec.

The camera is supported by the Xcelera-HS PX8 frame grabber, which delivers image acquisition bandwidth of 1.8 GB/sec and host transfer bandwidth of 2 GB/sec over multiple-lane PCI Express implementations. The camera measures 180 × 90 × 92.5 mm and features up to 256 selectable TDI (time delay and integration) stages for low-light imaging.
