QuasarBrite™ UV LEDs from Lumex, Palatine, IL, are available in 385nm, 405nm, and 415nm wavelengths at 4-6mW in through-hole format. A robust TO-46 package with a glass lens provides a lifespan of more than 50,000 hours. QuasarBrite UV LEDs provide a uniform beam pattern and do not use the hazardous mercury material found in CCFL technology. Lumex’s UV LEDs have up to 70% lower energy consumption than CCFLs. The UV LEDs are ideal for a wide range of applications, such as bacterial and superficial sterilization for medical device technologies; industrial control device technology related to leak and biohazard detection; forensic applications related to counterfeit detection; and ink fluorescing. www.lumex.com
