Manncorp (Huntingdon Valley, PA) offers the 2004D Series of multi-purpose dispensing solutions that combine 3-axis robots with integrated digital dispense controllers for SMT assembly tasks. Point-to-point, linear, or curved-arc application of solder pastes, solder masks, conductive epoxies, and other adhesives is achieved with synchronized hardware and software. The compact, benchtop units weigh less than 100 pounds, and can store up to 10,000 different dispensing routines created via a handheld teach pendant and intuitive programming. Import of a wide variety of CAD and graphics file formats, and 3D interpolation of arc and line data points, also make the system suitable for under-filling, encapsulation, potting, and sealing processes.

Three standard robot models are available — the 2004D-300, 2004D-400, and 2004D-500 — with X-Y working ranges of 300 x 300 mm, 400 x 400 mm, and 500 x 500 mm, respectively. The units feature a high-torque drive mechanism for speeds to 800 mm/sec, and linear guide rails for a repeatability of ±0.01 mm per axis. All three models have 100 mm of Z-axis stroke and a braking system that can hold up to a 6 kg payload without power.
