HBM (Marlborough, MA) introduced the C10 line of compressive force transducers. The stainless steel version is hermetically sealed, and they have an IP68 rating for use in environments where dirt and moisture can be a problem. The C10 is available with various nominal forces ranging from 2.5 kN to 1 MN, in accuracy classes ranging from 0.03 to 0.06. Despite the high output signal (up to 4 mV/V), C10 transducers have a very low temperature coefficient. A variety of options is available, including a double-bridge option, TEDS transducer electronic data sheets, and different cables and connectors, for a total of 2,304 different configurations. Applications range from propulsion testing, to end-of-line testing, to drop testing and anywhere precision force in harsh environments is required.
