Festo Corp. (Hauppauge, NY) has introduced the DMES electromechanical linear actuators that provide a feed force of up to 3000 N. The lead screw of the actuators is non-backdriveable, eliminating the need for an additional braking mechanism in vertical applications. The lead screw is integrated within the actuator body, providing enhanced protection, and minimizing risk of premature failure related to contamination from debris. An external metal sealing strip provides additional protection from dirt and dust.

The KF version of the actuator features a recirculating linear ball bearing guide that allows for high forces and moment loads. The GF version’s friction guide offers smooth linear motion for format setting applications. Both versions incorporate standardized interfaces for integration into new or existing modular axis systems.
