Zaber Technologies (Richmond, BC, Canada) released the T-LSR series of computer-controlled, motorized linear stages, which travel up to 300 mm and have a resolution down to 0.25 μm. The device can handle loads up to 20 kg at speeds up to 20 mm/s. Multiple units may be mounted in X-Y or X-Y-Z configurations without any additional hardware. Integrated motors and controllers let the devices be daisy-chained with other T-series products and controlled from a single USB or RS232 serial port. A knob at the end of each stage allows for manual control (for manual operation, the stage need not be connected to a computer). They are compatible with the company’s T-LS motorized ball bearings.
