SANYO DC Micro Motor Division, Bensenville, IL, has developed the BSY-3089 vibrating micro motor suitable for applications requiring a small footprint on surface-mount circuit boards. The motor measures 11 mm in length, with a 4.4-mm-wide body × 3.4 mm height off the mounting surface. Typical speed is 14,000 rpm with a counterweight of 1.7-mm radius and 2.8-mm length. Mechanical noise is 45 dB max. Electrical noise is controlled by a ring varistor. Standard operating voltage is 2.7 VDC. Load current is approximately 65 mA. Operating temperature range for the vibrating micro motor is -20°C to 70°C, while storage temperature range is -30°C to 85°C.

The BSY-3089 vibrating micro motor is suitable for use in mobile phones and consumer medical devices in OEM quantities. It is applicable for devices weighing approximately 80g or less.
