XMOS (Sunnyvale, CA) has released a motor control platform that contains XCore® processors, an XMOS motor control hardware board with support for dual axis motor control and communication, and a suite of control, processing, and interfacing functions to help designers develop motor drives in high-level software programming languages. The XCore processor architecture, combined with the XTA static timing analysis tool, provides a programmable platform, which executes software without requiring an RTOS. The XS1-L1 500 MIPS processor handles three-phase BLDC motor control loops, while the XS1-L2 1000 MIPS processor manages communication, logging, and motion control.
