Applied Motion Products’ (Watsonville, CA) ST10-Si stepper drive delivers 24 to 80 Vdc with peak outputs to 10 A. The drive is protected against overvoltage, undervoltage, overtemperatures, and external output shorts. Upon start-up, the drive measures motor parameters including resistance and inductance, and uses this information to optimize system performance.

The drive is programmable for standalone operation with the Si Programmer Windows-based software. A graphical point-and-click format combines motion, I/O, and operator interface functionality for simple machine sequencing. Other features include microstep emulation, torque ripple smoothing, and dynamic smoothing. Option boards are available for encoder feedback.
