Powering what’s possible, Automate, to be held from May 22-25 at the Huntington Place Convention Center in Detroit, MI, will provide attendees the latest in cutting-edge robotics, vision, artificial intelligence, motion control, and more. Over 600 exhibitors will deliver the latest innovations in manufacturing automation technology at the show this year.

Hosted by the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), Automate, the largest show dedicated entirely to automation solutions that pave the way forward, strives to unlock tomorrow’s automation possibilities today. With more than 25,000 attendees from dozens of countries, the show will provide networking opportunities to connect with other industry professionals and exhibitors who can help power your automation possibilities.

In addition to seeing demos of the latest automation solutions, Automate attendees can watch keynote sessions highlighting how these technologies solve real-world challenges or participate in small group discussions in the theater sessions covering important topics, such as how robotics and automation are transforming the economy, innovative strategies for jumpstarting an automation strategy, or how companies can cultivate talents in the workforce.

At the Automate Conference, held alongside the free show offerings, paying attendees will hear from experts in the industry and can get practical training to become a certified vision professional or certified motion control professional with courses and testing available on-site.

From AI-powered automation to tried-and-true technologies, the sessions will feature accomplished industry professionals in over 150 talks. Whether seeking a basic understanding of automation or looking for more advanced courses and opportunities, this conference has something to offer for everyone.

Keynote Sessions

Automate aims to gather the best and brightest to fuel the future of business. Its keynotes are free to all attendees and exhibitors. The four keynote sessions include:

Lessons on Leadership: Tom Izzo, Head Coach, Michigan State University Men’s Basketball Program, will share invaluable leadership lessons from his life’s work as a Hall of Fame basketball coach and a beloved mentor.

NASA-Inspired Approach to Leading Innovation in Any Organization: Gregory Robinson, Former Director, NASA, James Webb Space Telescope, will use real-life examples from his 33-year history at NASA to show how the human element is more critical than ever to driving transformation and achieving our most ambitious goals.

How Digitalization Has Transformed Manufacturing — And Our Future: The term “Industry 4.0” went mainstream about 10 years ago. Yet in that short time, we have achieved milestones in digitalization that all but the most optimistic of us would have thought impossible. In this keynote session, Barbara Humpton, President and CEO, Siemens Corporation USA, will share her perspective on what the next 10 years will bring and explore where we go next, what it will take to get there, and what key issues we as an industry will be confronting and managing along the way.

One Robot for Any Task: The digitization of practically everything coupled with advances in machine learning, the automation of knowledge work, and advanced robotics promises a future with democratized use of machines and wide-spread use of AI, robots, and customization. Daniela Rus, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Director of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), MIT, will discuss what the next 60 years could be ushering in our time with pervasive robots that come in a diversity of forms and materials, helping people with physical and cognitive tasks.

Workforce Development Day

Another key highlight of the show is the Workforce Development Day, which will be held on May 25, and students at least 12 years old will be able to explore robotics and automation career opportunities. By attending, the kids can build a strong foundation for success by touring the show floor and seeing all the latest automation technologies on display as well as gain actionable insights from industry leaders on how to take advantage of career opportunities.

The Startup Challenge

This year will again feature presentations from the finalists of the Automate Startup Competition, sharing why their new offering should win the cash prize and credibility. The competition spotlights up-and-coming entrepreneurs and their young robotics and automation companies. On May 26, 10 finalists will compete for the top $10,000 cash prize by pitching their technology solution to a panel of industry expert judges.

Automate LIVE

If you can’t attend the show in person, Automate LIVE: Key Interviews and Highlights from The Automate 2023 Show and Conference will bring you a virtual experience of the conference. Automate LIVE will stream pertinent topics, people, and companies to manufacturers looking for the latest in automation.

Through its intimate workshops with industry giants, engaging keynotes, networking events, innovation competitions, and live demonstrations, Automate 2023 will highlight how robotics, vision, AI, and more can unlock higher product quality, lower costs, and provide solutions to future-proof your business for years to come.
