Deposition Sciences, Inc. (Santa Rosa, CA) has developed a line of thin film optical coatings that operate in the 3 - 5 micron and the 8 - 12 micron infrared (IR) spectral regions. A variety of coating types with these two wavelength regions are available, including AR (antireflection), high reflectors, beam splitters, dichroic coatings, and band pass filters. These thin film coatings can be applied onto various substrates including sapphire, silicon, germanium, zinc sulfide, zinc selenide, metals, ceramics, and glass types compatible with the extended infrared spectral region. The optical coatings are suitable for use in military, aerospace, and industrial tasks.
