Lasson Technologies (Culver City, CA) has released the AIR-1550-TWM laser ultrasonic receiver for component inspection and nondestructive evaluation of material properties. Part of the AIR family of receivers, the AIR-1550-TWM operates at a wavelength of 1,550 nm. AIR receivers are based on a common platform with a modular design, offer fiber coupling to a selection of sensor heads, and use a chassis designed for benchtop use or compatibility with the standard 19" rack-mount systems. Common measurement applications include material thickness, weld inspection and dimensioning, inspection of electronic packages, and general defect location and characterization.
