The University of Georgia Research Foundation has a portfolio of technologies for the fast and accurate detection and identification of pathogens and chemicals. The technologies provide for a scalable and inexpensive method for the detection of disease agents as well as environmental contaminants, materials of relevance to homeland security, etc.
This portfolio comprises several uses of a nanotechnology-based platform technology for the fast and accurate detection and identification of biologic or chemical analytes present in ultra-low concentrations. The technology is suitable for use in connection with liquids and gaseous solutions and mixtures. It includes the use of a disposable, inexpensive detection cartridge (much like a glucometer), and is compatible with multiplex sample analysis.
