Optical Nano-Sensor Helps Preserve Valuable Ecosystems

University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Climate Change Cluster (C3) scientists are using novel technology to help protect and conserve valuable seagrass ecosystems. Ph.D. student Kasper E Brodersen and colleagues at the University of Copenhagen have developed a novel technique that uses optical sensor nanoparticles to determine the O2 and pH dynamics and heterogeneity around the below-ground tissues of seagrasses.
