'RemoveDEBRIS' Mission Technologies Demonstrate Space Junk Cleanup

Led by the Surrey Space Centre of the University of Surrey, the 'RemoveDEBRIS' mission aims to demonstrate capture technologies on space debris. The mission is comprised of a main satellite platform that will deploy two CubeSats, as artificial debris targets, to demonstrate four capture technologies: net capture, harpoon capture, vision-based navigation, and dragsail de-orbitation. The RemoveDEBRIS platform was housed in a SpaceX Dragon cargo capsule, and launched to the International Space Station via the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on April 2, 2018.
