Argonne Lab Analyzes Real-World Performance of Fuel Cell Vehicles

Commercial fuel cell vehicles are beginning to gain popularity in America, while understanding of how these vehicles perform in varying real-world driving conditions and environments remains limited. Argonne National Laboratory  researchers are collaborating with Transport Canada's Innovation Centre to test and analyze the Toyota Mirai, one of the first commercially available fuel cell cars. To test the Mirai, the researchers used instruments including two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive dynamometers, a thermal chamber with a temperature range from 0°F to 95°F, and other advanced testing tools.
