On-Demand Webinars: Manufacturing & Prototyping

Technical Webinar Series from the Editors of SAE – Additive Manufacturing and SAE’s Data Submission Guidelines

In Conjunction with SAE

This 60-minute Webinar explores the initial step in moving additive manufacturing (AM) from part qualification to material qualification: data management.

As with traditionally manufactured aircraft components, the materials and processes used to manufacture additively manufactured components must be under documented control. SAE has been developing a series of feedstock materials and AM processing specifications required to be in compliance with regulations governing the certification of commercial aircraft. Part of the development of these specifications is deriving specification minimum values for the acceptance of feedstock material and/or qualification of AM processes.

SAE’s AMS-AM Committee is preparing Data Submission Guidelines describing the minimum data requirements necessary to generate specification minimum values. This Webinar explains the committee’s approach to feedstock and process control and presents the Data Submission Guidelines for both metals and polymers for the establishment of specification minimum values.

An audience Q&A follows the technical presentations.
