Auto Safety: Crash Test Accelerometer Design and Benefits

The design of piezoresistive accelerometers used for automotive crash testing has advanced rapidly in recent years, improving both measurement capabilities, as well as the accuracy of vehicle models. Modern designs utilize high-sensitivity sensing elements for greater signal-to-noise performance, and multi-mode damping for attenuation of excessively high frequencies. Advancements in integrated ESD protection methods have made handling easier, and specialized calibrations ensure accurate integration with DAQ systems.

This 60-minute Webinar will explore the driving factors behind these advancements, the methods by which they’ve been accomplished, and how they impact real-world automotive crash test measurements. An audience Q&A session will follow the technical presentation.
