Dean L. Bartles, Ph.D., President and CEO, Manufacturing Technology Deployment Group
Dr. Dean Bartles is a seasoned operations professional with four decades of management experience in manufacturing and technology. He is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Manufacturing Technology Deployment Group Inc., a not-for-profit holding company of both the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) and Advanced Manufacturing International Inc. Since 2010, Dean served as a board member for NCDMM before joining as the President and CEO in 2019. Prior to this, he served as the President of the National Tooling and Machining Association and was previously the Director of the John Olson Advanced Manufacturing Center at the University of New Hampshire. He was the founding Executive Director of the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute and the Chief Manufacturing Officer of UI LABS. Dean worked for General Dynamics Corp. for 31 years, where he was responsible for setting up and running manufacturing operations in Egypt, Turkey, and the U.S. Dean graduated from Indiana State University, earning a Ph.D. in technology management with a concentration in manufacturing systems.

Dan Skulan is the General Manager of Industrial Metrology at Renishaw Inc., where he helps companies increase production throughput, maximize flexibility, and ensure optimal part quality in precision metal manufacturing using both CNC and additive technologies. Backed by a global team of industrial metrologists, he works consultatively with companies that wish to achieve higher levels of productivity while reducing cost. Dan holds degrees in electronics technology, industrial manufacturing, and marketing and has more than 35 years of practical experience with manufacturing process evaluation, design, and automated process control.
