HOSTED BY:

Conformal coatings play an integral role in the protection of many consumer and industrial electronics, medical device, aerospace, defense, and automotive applications as engineers are tasked with designing their products with both performance and reliability in mind. As technologies continue to advance and are often required to perform in increasingly harsh operating conditions, designers can turn to a wide array of conformal coatings to provide durable, lasting protection. This 60-minute Webinar will examine a comprehensive range of coating solutions and the unique features and benefits they offer that enable engineers to select the best coating to protect a particular application.

Topics include:

  • Liquid coatings
  • Parylene coatings
  • Plasma coatings
  • Atomic layer deposition (ALD) coatings

A Q&A session will follow the technical presentation.

Speakers:

Tim Seifert, Aerospace & Defense Market Manager, Specialty Coating Systems (SCS)

Tim Seifert is the Aerospace & Defense Market Manager for SCS where his focus includes global expansion of SCS’s market activities and new applications for conformal coatings. Tim has more than 15 years of experience in the industrial market, including roles in sales, market research, and product marketing, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.

Lamar Young, Technical Manager, SCS

Lamar Young serves as the Technical Manager at SCS where his focus includes providing technical support for the sales and global distribution of Parylene raw materials and developing and testing new Parylene dimers and films. Lamar has been in the electronic industry for more than 30 years, with experience in designing and supporting conformal coating equipment (spray, dip, spin, and vapor deposition systems and UV and thermal cure ovens), developing and improving Parylene coating processes, and managing the SCS dimer product line. He holds a bachelor’s in physics from Purdue University.
