Tech Talks: Software

The Future is Virtual for Automotive Electronic System Software Development

From electric vehicle control to advanced driver assistance systems, electronic content in automotive systems is accelerating. With it comes the need to develop and test automotive embedded software, which is time-consuming and costly. Today the development dependencies on hardware, boards, and physical test benches, such as hardware-in-the-loop, are constraining developers. New tooling is required to enable earlier, concurrent, and more productive development methodologies.

Automotive companies have adopted a “Shift Left” and “Software First” perspective with virtual prototyping as the enabling foundation. This Tech Talk provides an overview on how virtual prototyping accelerates this (r)evolution in automotive software development and test. It describes the different types of virtual prototyping to be considered, key use cases, and their value based on deployment at leading automotive semiconductor companies, Tier 1 suppliers, and OEMs.
