3D Scanning and Data Management for Medical Device Design

Bespoke medical devices have been a long-standing pain point for medical designers and patients. Traditional methods involve many steps, have long turnarounds, come at great expense, and often produce sub-optimal outcomes. This 30-minute Webinar will discuss how 3D scanning can dramatically improve these design cycles, lowering costs and delivery times while greatly improving outcomes. In addition, it will explore how to design from scan data — whether it was produced with a handheld scanner or CT — and how to harness the potential of product data management (PDM) software to streamline the many revisions, refits, and approval processes required in medical design.

Ian Sayers, 3D Scanning Product Manager, Hawk Ridge Systems    
 
Ian Sayers serves as the 3D Scanning Product Manager at Hawk Ridge Systems. With more than 15 years in the 3D industry, he cut his teeth in 3D printing and product design before eventually transitioning into 3D scanning full time. At Hawk Ridge Systems, Ian focuses on teaching companies how to implement 3D scanning and related workflows.  



Zach Horvath, Applications Engineer, Hawk Ridge Systems    
 
Zach Horvath is an Applications Engineer with Hawk Ridge Systems. Prior to joining Hawk Ridge Systems, he was a Sales Engineer and Applications Engineer in the robotic automation space, where he managed installations and trainings across the industry. Zach is a certified SOLIDWORKS professional and focuses his talents on SOLIDWORKS CAD and data management.
