Get a Grip — With a Dead Spider

Many arachnophobics will tell you that the only good spider is a dead spider. Recent Rice University research seems to support these suspicions.

The team repurposed dead spiders to act as mechanical grippers — which can blend into natural environments and pick up heavier objects. They coined this “necrobotics.”
