Navigating Conformal Coating Choices to Meet Performance and Reliability Requirements

SPONSORED BY:

For those tasked with designing and manufacturing components, assemblies, and systems, choosing the optimal conformal coating can mean the difference between a good product and a great one. These coatings often play an integral role in consumer and industrial products across the electronics, medical, aerospace, defense, and automotive industries.

This 60-minute webinar will explore a comprehensive range of coating solutions including liquid, plasma, atomic layer deposition (ALD), and Parylene. The program will dive into the unique features and benefits of each coating, how they protect critical components in various operating environments, and how they enhance performance through increased reliability. An audience Q&A session will follow the technical presentation.

Speakers:

Dick Molin, Medical Market Manager, Specialty Coating Systems

Dick Molin is the Medical Market Manager for Specialty Coating Systems (SCS). His focus includes expansion of SCS’ medical market activities and new medical applications for SCS Parylene, liquid, plasma, ALD, and multi-layer conformal coating services and technologies. He has 35 years of experience in product and process development — including more than 20 years at SCS where he has actively worked with advanced materials, processes, and applications. Dick holds a bachelor’s degree in materials science engineering from the University of Arizona and an MBA in technology management from the University of Phoenix.

Lamar Young, Technical Manager, Specialty Coating Systems

Lamar Young is the Technical Manager at SCS. His focus includes providing technical support for the sales and global distribution of Parylene raw materials as well as developing and testing new Parylene dimers and films. He has been in the electronic industry for more than 30 years, with experience in designing and supporting conformal coating equipment (spray, dip, spin, and vapor deposition systems and UV and thermal-cure ovens); developing and improving Parylene coating processes; and managing the SCS dimer product line. Lamar holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Purdue University.
