Advancements in Biocompatible Liquid Crystal Polymer Substrates for Next-Gen Medical Devices

SPONSORED BY:

Traditional medical devices interfacing with biological tissue often rely on individual wiring and machined metal parts, resulting in high costs, complex assembly, and limited miniaturization. Liquid crystal polymer (LCP) thin-film substrates with pure gold conductors offer a transformative alternative. Due to LCP’s thermoplastic nature, multiple layers bond seamlessly without discrete interfaces, virtually eliminating material diffusion.

This 30-minute webinar will explore some of the advantages of LCP use including how electrode surfaces can be tailored to meet specific application needs, enhancing biocompatibility and electrochemical performance. It also will examine how LCP substrates enable three-dimensional features and encapsulation of active components as well as how they streamline assembly and unlock new design possibilities for catheters, integrated platforms, and miniature tissue interfaces by increasing signal density and reducing part count. An audience Q&A Session will follow the technical presentation.
