MICROMO Presents the Piezo LEGS Caliper Stage Motor
MICROMO is pleased to announce the arrival of the Piezo LEGS LC20 Caliper Motor. The LC20 Caliper Motor is designed for integration in linear or goniometer stages. Its extremely compact size and direct drive makes it ideal for high-precision motorized stages. With this piezo motor solution, it is possible to fit your complete motion system inside the stage - no more bulky electrical motors and linear screws that are connected externally to the stage. The motor can also be fitted on the outside of a linear stage, making the use of longer drive rods possible for increased travel range.

00:00:06 i'm oli lindqvist i'm a global sales manager for piazza motor in sweden the features with our kind of technology it's totally different i would say the advantages with what we call the piezo legs that's our kind of motion that we talk about because we take steps this is the piezo legs core and that's the core of the motor here we have four legs
00:00:31 we can do also six legs versions depending on what kind of force you want this can lift and move like a leg and they work two and two together so two with push forward the other one will reposition then move up again so we have a walking method
00:00:56 why it's so exciting to have this is the thing that you can help the customers to solve their problems it's the high resolution that we can get the scalable type of motor but you don't have any backlash these are things that you haven't been able to do before the core of the motor goes inside what we call the motor housing
00:01:20 in this case we have two motor housings which gives us actually twice the force and you can also see the bar the drive rod in here so that's what we move we have another type here that's the six legs version and with this one we get higher force and then when we put two and two together
00:01:42 twice the force we have made actually a demo that shows we can step in 20 nanometers steps using an encoder here you see the caliper motor that's been mounted outside the stage that's just for uh demonstration we also use the micro
00:02:03 encoder for this and on the computer you can see a graph going which takes 20 nanometer steps at a time this is actually the first job i have when i'm happy going to work every day because you never know what's going to be happening what kind of applications will there be there what kind of visits can i do
00:02:25 because we know that we can solve nearly every problem that customer have using the type of technology that we have that's why we say it's simply simplicity in motion that's our key words more or less
