Advances in Digital Image Correlation

Digital image correlation (DIC) is a non-contact optical method for measuring full-field (or areal) deformation, strain, and/or vibration on a given material in many application areas: ballistics, automotive, aerospace, robotics, electronics, and medical. DIC goes beyond normal single data-point technologies. In this interview, Kyle Gilroy, Application Engineering Manager at AMETEK Vision Research, discusses the latest advances in DIC and how it’s a versatile tool for engineers to optimize their designs, troubleshoot complex tests, and better quantify scientific experiments.
