This week's Question: On July 11th, the convenience store chain 7-Eleven partnered with drone startup Flirtey to make the first commercial delivery – a chicken sandwich, donuts, coffee, candy, and Slurpees – to a private residence in Reno, Nevada. Many companies, like Amazon and Google, are exploring the use of drones for delivering packages. Strict Federal Aviation Administration drone regulations, however, have pushed the companies to do much of the testing overseas in countries like the Netherlands and Canada. The FAA recently released new commercial drone rules that take effect in August; the rules, though, still do not allow for the flying of drones at night or outside the line of sight of their operators. What do you think? Will drone delivery be practical?
